Communications Planning Process

The abovementioned process falls within the 'Executing' process group of the 'Communication Management' knowledge area, as per PMI PMBok.

The Communication Planning process identifies the information/communication needs of project stakeholders - i.e. who needs what information, when they need it, how it will be provided and by whom. Although informational needs and methods of distribution vary, identifying the informational needs of the stakeholders and determining suitable means of meeting the needs are an important factor for project success.
